a nine inch nails ticket around the $100 price range crossed my path a couple months ago and i was pressured into making a decision STAT. i missed the last NIN show, but $100?!? was it worth it to see the man i loved since the age of 14? after humming and hawing for a couple weeks, my answer was no. a sign of getting older i guess. “You’re gonna regret it when you start hearing people talk about it everywhere.” wildphoenix, you were wrong!
as luck or fate would have it, everything turned out great. it wasn’t until the day before the concert that gecko scored a pair of platinum tickets for $35 each. ah...the perks of having corporate minded friends in the right places :) we missed DFA1979 *dammit* i’m a sucker for intimate concert settings, but it would have been cool to see the energy they drew from such a large crowd. i mean, i’m not a fan of QOTSA but there was no denying the excitement in the air...
...lights out...
...pinion breaks in...
...crowd goes insane...
i wanted to jump and scream like a fanatic, but couldn’t bring myself to do it. instead i just spazzed with laughter. gecko later remarked, “i thought you were gonna end up like that girl in the stretcher...you were freakin’ out!!” the show was superb with excellent lighting and visual effects. mad props, crew. there was a point where the stage looked like a giant aquarium (that trent later “shattered” with the mic stand) and many of the images during eraser reminded me of botany class. in fact, a lot of the show was really nostalgic. i’m so glad to be out of my teenage angst years, but i still like seeing clusters of freaks swaying to tunes (especially at velvet...muhaha).
in a word, trent was hot! mmm...that hair cut, those arms *drool* okay, i’ll try to keep the gushing to a minimum ;P rock shows are so sexy though. that’s one thing the hip hop shows can’t compare with. just my opinion? yeah, but my opinion is the only one that matters. “there is no you, there is only me.” long live teen mentality! unfortunately no boy was waiting for me at home, but i did have a pleasant dream about MVT...the lust of my life during the peak of my NIN obsession. aww, he was such a nice boy too *yum*. no worries, it was non-sexual...jeez, the show wasn’t THAT hot! somehow dreams aren’t as sentimental and special when you can link the content to something that happened during the waking day. oh well. when’s the next gig?

Second that on the concert ... it was sick tight! Glad you were able to contain yourself (just barely mind you) during the parts when TR stuck his ass out while singing. -- Gecko
i have to say that i much preferred trent when he was scrawny. i did not enjoy those python arms. "comic guy" in the pink grossed me out.
