Weekend Update:
-lo-impact class at citybarn a.k.a. Jack Bauer! Jack Bauer!
our plans of going to a fitness class last weekend didn't work out, so this sunday deadstar and i hauled our asses out of bed way early in the AM. an assorted mix of people showed up for the 75 min sweat session, but my favourite has to have been the 65+ granny who tried her darndest to keep up with the instructor. at first the whole thing was just confusing, but after i caught on, it was a blast. one thing i learned--that my abs need mucho grande work.
-shopping spree at heartland and walmart a.k.a. bargains galore
great fun, as usual...but the best part is still laying out our finds on deadstar's floor and the girly banter that ensues.
-late night stroll a.k.a. a giraffe giving birth
having made an agreement with dynusteez when i was half asleep, i had no choice but to get changed and wander woodland park at 2am. both he and lymegrean were coerced into playing on the monkey bars. playgrounds RULE!!

(a.k.a. i spy cowbell)
i've been living on my own for almost a year, and it's taken this long for zoreoreo to come visit. we relived a small part of our childhood by playing dr.mario and supermario bros. 3. if her brother wasn't here being bored out of his mind watching two giggling girls play nintendo games, i'm sure we would still be at it now. previously, we were at the drake hotel on queen west checking out an avant-garde set of noise artists. mark had built a wooden sculpture that played between "bands". the entire event was plain weird. artsy, yes...but too much for me. "it's more about producing the sound, than the actual sound itself," is what mark said. frankly, 'ivan' who was performing onstage scared me a bit. there was a constant loud distortion, but he would change the "melodic" aspect of the noise by manipulating a sculpture/instrument/thingy that he had welded. all this while a home video of teens dancing and hanging out played on the big screen behind him. it creeped me out a bit. the idea is kinda neat, but in practice...i think i'll pass. although 'ivan' is supposedly "the most artistic of us" at the show, i liked mark's sculpture more. the sounds it created were nowhere as hectic and irritating, plus it was freestanding. well...not completely..it's connected to a motor, but you could sit and watch/listen to it without the distraction of a man acting crazy. it reminded me of automata :P maybe i just don't like performance arts when its genre is as obscure as this one. more likely, i just didn't like 'ivan'. however, i did like staring at jessup h. christ as he did the audio :D
